In what areas is the PhD degree awarded? The PhD degree is awarded in the area of BUSINESS MANAGEMENT. Is the PhD degree awarded by the Padmashree Dr. D Y Patil University, Navi Mumbairecognized by UGC? The PhD degree awarded by the Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai is recognized bythe UGC. What is the Eligibility Criteria for admission? Any candidate who holds a Masters Degree from a recognized university (recognized by UGC or anysuch statutory body) with 55% will be eligible for registration for the M.Phil program. The Mastersdegree should be either a two year full time program or a three year part time program from arecognized university/approved college. The candidate having the above qualification and serving inan educational, research or an industrial institution recognized by the University for the purpose willalso be eligible for registration while working at the said institution. What is the selection process for the PhD Program ?   3 The Application form may be downloaded from the website or can be obtained from the DepartmentsOffice (on any working day and during the office hours of the department) and submitted to thedepartment along with the necessary documents and a fee of Rs. 1500 /- (non refundable) being thecharges for processing the application. The processing fee may be payable by cash or by DemandDraft drawn in favor of Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil University, Department of Business Managementpayable at Navi Mumbai. (Add Rs.100/- for outstation students towards postal charges).The basis for selection will be (1) Written Examination (Multiple Choice Questions) and (2)Presentation and Personal Interview. The Written Examination will carry a weightage of around 30%while the Presentation and Personal Interview will carry a weightage of around 70% What are the documents that need to be submitted? At the time of submission of the forms the following documents are needed:1. All Mark Sheets and Passing Certificate (attested copies)2. Proof of Residence3. Two Passport sized photographsAfter you have been selected and at the time of filling the enrollment form the following documentshave to be submitted:1. Original Mark sheets and Passing Certificates2. Proof of Residence3. Domicile Certificate4. Transfer Certificate*5. Migration Certificate * and6. The First Years Fees ã For further details with respect to the Transfer and Migration Certificate please contact theDYPDBM Office who will guide you. Please note that synopsis / thesis cannot be submitted ifthe above documents are not in place. Is there any time period for completing the PhD program? The minimum time required for completing the PhD program is 3 years and the maximum timeavailable for completing the PhD program is 5 years. If the student does not complete the PhDprogram within a period of 5 years, then his / her registration is cancelled and the student has to reregister himself as a fresh student.   4 What are the procedure and the Timelines for obtaining the PhD degree? Please note that in the case of Jan –June batch the above timelines will be shifted by 6 months. Alsoplease note that these timelines are only indicative in nature. Submission of the Synopsis / Thesis isdependant on the candidate, Guide and the Head of Department (HOD). What are the important aspects of the course work? The course work is to be carried out for 1 semester and for 3 subjects viz.1. Theory Paper: Recent Trends in Business Management (100 marks)2. Research Methodology including Statistics—theory and application (100 marks)3. Two Seminars (comprising of 25 marks each) and a seminar on the review of publishedliterature (50 marks)The minimum marks required for clearing the course work is 50% in each of the papers.Normally classes are held for the coursework and attendance is compulsory. A Minimum of 75%attendance is required at these course work classes.Please note that the student will not be allowed to submit the synopsis if he / she does not clear hiscourse work exam. Does the student have to publish any research papers? Yes the student has to submit at least two Research papers per year in an area which is relevant andrelated to his topic of research. Without this the student will not be able to submit his synopsis . The research paper has to be published in ISSN journals.In the case of DYPDBM, the following publications (all ISSN journals) are also considered for the1. DYPDBM International Business Management Research Journal,2. UGAM and3. DYPDBM International Entrepreneurial Management and Research Review
